Democrats: The more Americans learn, the more they love health-care reform
Congressional Democrats on Monday dismissed fresh polling data that suggest that most Americans want the Supreme Court to invalidate all or parts of the the 2010 health-care law, arguing that most people grow to support the law once they learn more about it.

In line with other polls, most respondents (51 percent) to the Kaiser survey believe the law’s requirement that Americans purchase insurance is unconstitutional, while 28 percent felt it constitutional.

More than half of American voters – 54 percent -- approve of President Obama’s compromise that would have insurance companies pay for birth control for employees of religious-affiliated institutions, according to the latest Quinnipiac University national poll, released on Thursday. Just 38 percent said they disapproved, the telephone poll of 2,605 registered voters found.
